MIDDLETOWN, Pa.- Gallaudet University women's basketball team jumped out to a seven point lead but faltered during the next two quarters in a 74-66 lost to Penn St.-Harrisburg in the United East conference on Saturday afternoon in the Capital Union Building.
Gallaudet (3-4, 1-1 United East) jumped out to an early lead (18-11) in the first quarter due to a six point performance by Junior guard
Claire Ruiz-Tucker (Frederick, Md.) and Penn St.-Harrisburg (4-5, 2-0 United East) outscored the Bison by 13 and six points in the second and third quarters. GU was able to outscore Nittany Lions with a 19-15 lead in the fourth quarter, however, Bison could not catch up.
Ruiz-Tucker finished the game with 15 points, four rebounds and four assists. Senior forward
Cassidy Perry (Frederick, Md.) scored team high with 19 points. Perry also added seven rebounds and four assists. First year forward
Cam Lexow (Abington, Pa.) added nine points, eight boards, five assists and five steals.
The Nittany Lions were led by senior guard Jenna Montana who finished with 17 points, three rebounds and five steals.
