GU stumbles on the road at St. Mary's

ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. - It was another long game for the Gallaudet University men's soccer team here Tuesday as the Bison lost 11-0 to St. Mary's College of Maryland on the road in a United East Conference - Volt Division game.

Gallaudet (0-12, 0-5 United East) had two shots early but could not get a shot past St. Mary's goalie Jordon Eckman (three saves). The Bison had seven second-half shots as the buff and blue ended with 10 shots (three shots on goal). GU held a 3-2 edge in corner kicks and saves (5-3). 

St. Mary's (7-5-3, 2-1-1 United East) scored early and often against the Bison as the Seahawks scored in the opening minute and built a 4-0 lead just 15 minutes in. The Seahawks took an 8-0 lead into intermission and added three additional goals in the second half. Abdoul Anounkou led the hosts with four goals off the bench while Elliot Hodges and Braden Kindred scored two first-half goals each.

GU returns home and will host Penn College (6-5-3, 1-2-1 United East) on Friday afternoon (Oct. 20) at 4 p.m. in a conference game at Hotchkiss Field.
