Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

WASHINGTON - On Saturday afternoon, the Gallaudet University baseball team celebrated Senior Day on a sunny and hot day at Hoy Field. The Bison dropped the United East Conference doubleheader to Penn State Harrisburg 15-0 and 17-3.

Game 1: Penn St. Harrisburg 15, Gallaudet 0 (F/7)
Penn State Harrisburg came out strong and scored runs in every inning but the fifth. The Bison had a total of three hits in the shutout. Freshman Johnathan Guerrero (Indio, Calif.) came through with two singles in the second and fifth innings while senior Winston Lane III (Brooklyn Center, Minn.) smacked a single to right-center in the fourth.

Junior Austin Sliva-Wynne (Richmond, Texas) took the loss as he pitched 3.1 innings and struck out four batters. Freshman Robert Quigley (Mountain View, Calif.) came in to toss 2.2 innings of relief and struck out one. Sophomore Bryan Ramos-Navarro (Springfield, Mass.) threw one inning and struck out one.

Penn State Harrisburg starting pitcher Zach Gettys (6-1) threw five scoreless innings as he struck out 11 batters. Lions reliever Justin Emanuel logged two scoreless innings and struck out four.

Game 2: Penn St. Harrisburg 17, Gallaudet 3 (F/7)
The Bison (5-26, 1-14 United East) scored three runs against Penn State Harrisburg (17-14, 13-2 United East), the first-place team in the conference, before the rain and lightning came through to end the game after the seventh inning.

The Lions scored seven quick runs in the first inning and went on to tally runs in every inning but the fifth.

Gallaudet scored once in the bottom of the first inning and twice in the third. Sophomore Salvador Diaz (Norwalk, Calif.) tripled to right-center field to bring home sophomore Shea Sliva-Wynne (Richmond, Texas).

In the third, sophomore Joshua Dugan (San Antonio, Texas) doubled to left-center to place runners on second and third base. Austin Sliva-Wynne singled up the middle to drive in Shea Sliva-Wynne, who singled, and Dugan.

Junior Frank Diaz (Far Rockaway, N.Y.) took the loss on the mound as he pitched 4.0 innings. Junior Ben Meyer (Monroe, Mich.) came in to relieve Diaz for three innings and struck out one.

SENIOR DAY
Prior to the start of the doubleheader the Bison baseball program paid tribute to its four seniors (academically) who are set to graduate this year. The four include Diaz, Lane III, Meyer and Ramos-Navarro.
