Box Score LANCASTER, Pa. - The Gallaudet University baseball team played its first official road game of the 2022 season here Friday against Lancaster Bible College in a United East Conference game. The Bison (5-16, 1-5 United East) fell to the Chargers (11-10, 6-1 United East) in nine innings, 16-3.
Senior infielder Winston Lane III (Brooklyn Center, Minn.) led the way for the Bison as he went 3-for-4 at the plate with two RBI, one run and his first home run of the season. Lane drove in Gallaudet's first run in the top of the fourth with a RBI single to plate sophomore Salvador Diaz (Norwalk, Calif.) as the Bison trailed 6-1. Lane led off the sixth inning with a solo home run to right field to cut into the Chargers' lead to 9-2.
Gallaudet's third and final run came in the seventh on a RBI single by Diaz to plate junior Frank Diaz (Far Rockaway, N.Y.). GU's run made the score 10-3 before the Chargers plated six runs in the bottom of the seventh to break the game wide open.
Freshman starting pitcher Johnathan Guerrero (Indio, Calif.) took the loss on the mound as he allowed nine runs (six earned) on 10 hits, walked three and struck out five in five innings of work.
Lancaster Bible starter Trevor High (2-1) picked up the win as he pitched six innings and surrendered two runs (one earned) on six hits, walked two and struck out six.
