Box Score MORRISVILLE, N.Y. - On a cold Saturday in upstate New York, the Gallaudet University men's basketball team fell to SUNY Morrisville, 82-67, in a United East Conference game.
Gallaudet (2-18, 2-11 UEC) jumped out to an early 9-2 lead over SUNY Morrisville (6-14, 3-8 UEC) but the Mustangs tied the game minutes later and took the lead for good as it used a 14-1 run to stake a 24-10 lead. The Bison trailed 43-35 at the half.
SUNY Morrisville outscored the Bison by seven, 39-32, in the second half.
Junior guard Corey Smith (Miami, Fla.) led the Bison with 18 points, four rebounds, two steals and one assist. Sophomore forward Lance Wood (Fishers, Ind.) added 11 points, five rebounds, two assists, one block and a steal. Freshman guard Shannon Cotto (Lakewood, Ohio.) totaled nine points, seven rebounds, two assists and one steal and block.
Freshman forward Brandon Chung (Kahului, Hawaii) tallied eight points and ripped down eight boards while he passed out a team-high four assists. Freshman center Alex Antsiferov (North Charleston, S.C) came off the bench to contribute five points and four rebounds.
The Mustangs were led by junior guard Tron Smith with 19 points, five assists, five steals and four rebounds. Freshman forward Jordan Coard added 18 points and nine rebounds off the bench.
