Box Score CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - After a slow start here Friday evening, Gallaudet University rallied and defeated Wilson College in four sets, 3-1 (22-25, 25-13, 25-19, 25-20), in a women's volleyball match at the Gannett Field House.
Senior outside hitter Karita Lewis (Frederick, Md.) surpassed 1,000 career kills with six kills in the win. Lewis reached 1,000 career kills at the start of the fourth set when she recorded the first point for Gallaudet. She added two more kills to finish with six kills in the match and 1,0002 in her career.
Gallaudet (3-7) rolled in the final three sets after it dropped the first set to the Phoenix (0-3). Wilson went on a 10-3 run midway through the first set to take a 22-16 lead and held on to win 25-22.
In the second set, the two teams remained close early on until junior Mia Upchurch (Austin, Texas) served the Bison to nine straight points to force Wilson to use a timeout down, 17-6. The Phoenix got a few points back before GU closed out the set, 25-13. The third and fourth sets were closer in score but the Bison were in control throughout en route to their third win of the 2021 season.
Senior Elina Rubinshteyn (Austin, Texas) led the Bison attack with 10 kills while sophomore setter Emma Giuntoli (Austin, Texas) passed out 21 assists and Upchurch made eight digs and three services aces.

Gallaudet will travel south to Harrisonburg, Va., to participate in the Eastern Mennonite University Tri-Meet where the Bison will face Shenandoah University and the host Royals at 2 and 4 p.m., respectively.
