Box Score WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - The Gallaudet University men's basketball team began United East Conference play here Friday night in Bardo Gymnasium and lost, 75-50, to Penn College of Technology.
Gallaudet (0-6, 0-1 United East) got off to a slow start against a hot shooting Penn College (1-5, 1-0 United East) team that made nearly 50 percent of its shots from the field which included eight 3-pointers. The Wildcats led 24-6 halfway through the first half and took a 45-22 lead into the locker room at the half.
The Bison played a closer second half as they improved its shooting from the field and scored 28 points to the 30 recorded by Penn College.
Sophomore guard Rory Lewis (Frederick, Md.) led the Bison with nine points, four rebounds, two assists and one steal in limited time. Freshman forward Blessed Mbogo (Silver Spring, Md.) came off the bench to tally eight points and five rebounds. Fellow freshman guard Enow Otto Jr. (Waldorf, Md.) matched Mbogo with eight points off the bench. Senior guard Wilford Troup (Snellville, Ga.) added seven points while freshman guard Trevor Sterken (Grant, Mich.) made two 3-pointers to finish with six points.
Penn College had three players in double figures led by Will Sulesky's double-double (14 points, 11 rebounds) to go with three assists.
