WASHINGTON - The Gallaudet University men's basketball team returned to the Field House here Tuesday night to play host to Salisbury University in a non-conference game during Fall Break. GU hung around with Salisbury for the bulk of the game before the visiting Sea Gulls pulled away halfway through the second half, en route to a 76-57 victory.

Gallaudet (0-4) cut the lead down to five points, 54-49, at the 9:22 mark in the second half but that would be as close as the Bison got the rest of the contest. Salisbury (3-3) went on a 22-8 run to close out the game. 

Junior guard Corey Smith (Miami, Fla.) led the way for the buff and blue with 15 points, eight rebounds, five steals, four assists and one block. Freshman forward Brandon Chung (Kahului, Hawaii) followed with 11 points and seven rebounds.

Salisbury was paced by guard Gary Briddell (21 points) and forward Jordan Oates (14 points, 19 rebounds and three blocks).

The Sea Gulls led 39-31 at the half.

BISON TRACKS

• Sophomore Rory Lewis (Frederick, Md.) netted nine points, four boards and two assists
• Freshman Enow Otto Jr. (Waldorf, Md.) added eight points and three boards off the bench
• The Bison scored 20 points on fast break
• GU scored 18 points off 20 Sea Gull turnovers
• Gallaudet made five blocks
• SU outscored GU 37-26 in the second half
• Both teams scored 36 points in the paint

Gallaudet will next travel to Bryn Athyn College (0-4) on Monday, Nov. 29, for a 7 p.m. non-conference game in the Asplundh Field House.
