Box Score WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - The Gallaudet University men's basketball team lost 74-60 here on the road Saturday to Penn College in a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) game.
Gallaudet (2-14, 2-5 NEAC) had an off-day shooting as the Bison only made 19 of 66 shots from the field (28.8 percent), the second-lowest percentage this season. Penn College (5-11, 3-4 NEAC) held GU to only five 3-pointers out of 30 attempts. The silver lining was Gallaudet's free-throw percentage (81.0) as it made 17 of 21 shots.
Penn College led throughout and took a 28-23 lead into halftime and led by as much as 23 points in the second half.
Sophomore Matt Sherman (Angora, Minn.) came off the bench to net 11 points while junior Preston Kelly (Fishers, Ind.) matched Sherman with 11. Senior guard Noah Valencia (Riverside, Calif.) did not have a good shooting day as he only made 3 of 18 shots from the field and went 1-for-9 from 3-point range as he finished with eight points. Senior center Steve Valencia-Biskupiak (Riverside, Calif.) was limited to two points in 16 minutes played.
The Wildcats were paced by Elijah Vazquez and Damon Krieder who scored 19 and 17 points, respectively. Forward Carson Garvis completed a double-double with 11 points and a game-high 12 rebounds.
