Bison drop season series with Keuka

WASHINGTON - Gallaudet University's baseball dropped the third and final game of its season-series with Keuka College here Sunday afternoon at an overcast and blustery Hoy Field. The visiting Wolves won 17-6 over the Bison.

Gallaudet (7-22, 0-9 NEAC) scored six runs on 11 hits as the Bison plated runs in the fourth, fifth and nine innings.

Keuka (11-13, 6-3 NEAC) jumped out to an early 5-0 lead in the first inning before the Bison cut the lead to one, 6-5, with three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.

The Wolves went on to plate 11 unanswered runs in the sixth through ninth innings.

Senior Cameron Upton (Vicksburg, Miss.) led the way at the plate going 3-for-5 with two runs scored and one RBI.

Freshman Billy Sowers (Woodland Hills, Calif.) took the loss as he allowed seven runs (four earned) on 10 hits, four walks, one strikeout in 5.1 innings worked.

Keuka relief pitcher Tyler Key (2-2) earned the win as he threw 3.2 innings of scoreless relief after starting pitcher Bryan Johnson only lasted four innings.

Gallaudet will next host Marymount (Va.) University (14-15) under the lights at Hoy Field on Wednesday, April 17, at 7 p.m. This game is a make-up from the Bison Baseball Classic held back in February.
