Gallaudet's six-game win streak snapped by Keuka on the road, 76-73

Box Score

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. - A final 3-point attempt by Gallaudet University's women's basketball team came up short as the visiting Bison fell, 76-73, to Keuka College here Saturday in a key North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) cross-divisional game.

Gallaudet (13-9, 10-3 NEAC) trailed Keuka (17-4, 12-1 NEAC) by four points, 76-72, with five seconds left when sophomore forward Juliana Bahan (Frederick, Md.) came down with a rebound and got fouled. Bahan went to the free throw line and made the first attempt to cut the margin to three.

Bahan missed the second free throw attempt but got her own rebound as the final seconds began to tick off the scoreboard. The ball got kicked out to sophomore guard Emelia Beldon (Frederick, Md.), who heaved up a final 3-point attempt as time expired but didn't go in.

GU had stormed back from being down 15 points, 52-37, when it entered the fourth quarter. The Bison scored 36 points in the final 10 minutes of regulation. Senior guard/forward Hannah Neild (Litchfield, N.H.) scored 12 of her game-high 32 points in the fourth quarter.

Neild, one of the top scorers in NCAA Division III, surpassed 30 points for the fifth time this season. She tallied eight rebounds, six steals, two assists, one block and made five 3-pointers.

Junior guard Kendall Hudson (Blissfield, Mich.) chipped in 14 points, seven rebounds, eight assists, five steals while senior guard Sabina Shysh (Tucson, Ariz.) added 13 points and nine rebounds.

The Wolves had four players in double figures led by guard Jariah Johnson's 18-point and eight-rebound game.

Gallaudet led 13-12 after the first quarter and took a 27-26 lead into halftime. Keuka outscored GU by 16 points in the third quarter.

Keuka snapped Gallaudet's six-game win streak in a game that had ramifications on the upcoming NEAC tournament. GU needed to win to try and keep pace with first-place SUNY Poly. The Bison are still in good shape for the postseason and may earn the South Division first round bye if they can win out (three games left).
