Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

SCRANTON, Pa. - The Gallaudet University women's volleyball team dropped a non-conference doubleheader on the road Friday night to Lebanon Valley College (LVC) and the host school, University of Scranton. The Bison were swept by LVC and lost in four sets to the Royals.

The Bison (14-14) steadily gained momentum with the Royals (18-14) in the first set of the day, until two attack errors combined with back-to-back kills led Scranton to a four-point lead, 10-14, that held the Bison at bay until they edged them out completely with a 20-25 win. The second match fared much like the first, as the Royals gained an eight-point lead, 13-21, en route to a 18-25 second set win. It could of been a sweep in the third set, but Gallaudet took the lead from Scranton midway through the set and led 18-13. This was GU's biggest lead of the day. The Bison closed out the third set, 25-21. Scranton jumped out to a quick 1-6 lead in the fourth set and never looked back and won 21-25.

Junior outside hitter Adele Daniels (Austin, Texas) and sophomore middle hitter Karita Lewis (Frederick, Md.) both recorded a double-doubles. Daniels tallied 13 kills and 20 digs while Lewis recorded 10 kills and 17 digs. Freshman setter Emma Giuntoli (Austin, Texas) passed out 34 assists in the loss along with three service aces.

Megan Monastra led the Royals in kills (17) and completed a double-double with 16 digs to go with two service aces. Kristin Kirwan followed close behind with 11 kills.

In the second match, LVC (13-10) swept the Bison (14-15) in three sets; 16-25, 14-25, 18-25. GU tried to hold on in the first set but trailed by 11 points, 13-24, against LVC. The Bison scored two kills and a service ace before the Fighting Dutchmen took its last point. LVC tallied seven consecutive kills to take an 11-24 lead before GU served up a few aces before it lost 14-25. GU came back stronger in the third set, but it was not enough to slow the Dutchmen, who completed the straight set sweep.

Karita Lewis led the Bison in kills (nine) while Daniels added eight.

The Dutchmen were led by Jess Attieh in kills (14), followed by Amanda Sides with eight. LVC's Jensen Burnheimer passed out 33 assists.
