Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - The Gallaudet University women's volleyball team saw its nine-match conference winning streak end here Friday night at the hands of Penn St.-Berks, who upset the Bison, in four sets, 3-1. The Bison breezed through their North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) match with Penn College with a 3-0 win, earlier in the evening, before facing the Nittany Lions (18-9, 8-3 NEAC).

The conference loss to Gallaudet (15-15, 10-2 NEAC), the six-time defending NEAC champions, impacts its chances of hosting the NEAC tournament in two weeks. GU trails SUNY Poly (15-10, 9-1 NEAC), the only other team to beat the Bison this season in conference play. NEAC conference play concludes this weekend.

Gallaudet and Penn St.-Berks needed extra points in the first two sets where the Nittany Lions won 26-24 and 31-29. The Bison bounced back with a 25-20 third set win before falling 25-14 in the decisive fourth set.

Freshman middle hitter Adele Daniels (Frederick, Md.) led the Bison with 18 kills, 16 digs and two block solos. Junior outside hitter Darriyan Thomas (Vallejo, Calif.) tallied 16 kills, six service aces and six digs in the loss. Junior setter Jasmine Jeter (Noblesville, Ind.) passed out 42 assists and nine digs while sophomore libero Raelyn Fuechtmann (South St. Paul, Minn.) made 12 digs.

GU swept through the host Wildcats (6-19, 4-8 NEAC) with a 25-18, 25-9, 25-22 victory. Daniels led the Bison with 13 kills and eight digs while Thomas added 10 kills and five digs. Jeter passed out 33 assists and made nine digs while Fuechtmann added nine digs.
