Box Score ARLINGTON, Va. - The Gallaudet University women's volleyball team fell in non-conference action Wednesday night, 3-1, to Marymount (Va.) University on the road.
Gallaudet (1-4) lost the first set 11-25 but bounced back to take the second set, 25-17, and to knot the match at 1-1. The Saints (9-0) pushed past the Bison in the next two sets, 17-25 and 21-25, to win the match.
Senior outside hitter Kali Frowick (Norfolk, Neb.) led Gallaudet with 14 kills and 18 digs on the night. Junior setter TraciAnn Hoglind (Fisher, Ind.) added two kills and five digs, but led all Bison with 34 assists. Junior libero Kate Fetzer (Noblesville, Ind.) contributed to the defense with 18 digs.
Marymount was led by Emileigh Retting and Morgan McAlpin who had 16 and 10 kills, respectively.
The Bison will return to the court on Friday, Sept. 12, as they travel to Bridgewater, Va., for the Bridgewater College Invitational where they will face Washington and Lee University at 4 p.m. GU will also have matches against N.C. Wesleyan College, Averett University and Bridgewater College during the two-day event.
