College on Sunday as the two men's basketball teams faced off at
the Field House where the Bison were victorious, 85-50.

points off 17 turnovers and held a 38-26 edge in rebounds. GU shot
62.3 percent from the field (33 of 53), the best mark during Coach
Brendan Stern's three seasons and the highest
for a Bison team since Dec. 1, 2011, when they shot 64.4 percent
(29 of 45) against Lancaster Bible College.
Junior Trey Gordon
(Talladega, Ala.) led the Bison with 25 points as he made 8 of 13
shots, including 5 of 9 shots from three-point range, grabbed eight
rebounds, passed out five assists and had two steals. Gordon was
one of four Bison in double figures as sophomores Raymond
Nelson (Riverside, Calif.) and Joshua
McGriff (Somerset, N.J.) added 14 and 13 points,
respectively. Senior Ben Coleman
(St. Paris, Ohio) tallied 11 points as he made 3 of 5 shots from
three-point range. Fellow senior Anton
Jackson (Detroit, Mich.) recorded seven points and six
rebounds. Junior Todd Bonheyo
(Frederick, Md.) made his season debuted as he logged 18 minutes
and scored four points, grabbed six rebounds, four assists and two
steals.
The Bison had several highlight worthy plays as they threw down
some acrobatic dunks. In the second half, McGriff had a nice
baseline dunk to get things started early before Bonheyo lobbed a
perfect alley-oop to Nelson who slammed it home at the 10:06 mark
as GU led 61-37. Nelson threw down a vicious dunk in the first half
as he drove the lane, threw down a tomahawk left-handed jam as the
Bison increased their lead to 32-17 with 4:57 left before break. GU
took a 36-20 lead into halftime.
Bryce Lonsway led the Wildcats with 11 points and three rebounds
as Penn College shot 32.2 percent from the field.
The most bizarre moment came at the 7-minute mark when McGriff
missed his second free throw attempt, which was rebounded by Penn
College's Anthony Griffin who quickly threw the ball back up and
into the wrong basket to give GU a 24-14 lead.
Gallaudet is off until Saturday, Nov. 29, when the Bison host
Sarah Lawrence (1-3) in a non-conference game at 3 p.m.
