Box Score WASHINGTON - The Gallaudet University women's
volleyball team defeated North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC)
rival Lancaster Bible College in three straight sets, 25-21, 25-15,
25-7, in front of an excited pink crowd Monday night in the Field
House as the Bison participated in the annual American Volleyball
Coaches Association Dig Pink event.
Senior outside hitter Kali
Frowick (Norfolk, Neb.) had a great offensive night,
as she led the Bison with 11 kills while senior middle hitter
Julia
Wolff (Belleville, Ontario) was close behind with nine
kills and a strong defensive game as she had five blocks (three
block assists, two solo blocks) against the Chargers (13-11, 6-3
NEAC).
Junior setter TraciAnn
Hoglind (Fishers, Ind) had 34 of the team's 38 assists
and three service aces. Freshman libero Darriyan
Thomas (Vallejo, Calif) had nearly half of the team's
49 digs (22) and one service ace. Freshman Kylene
Etkie (Austin, Texas) had a great offensive
performance, with four of the team's 10 service
aces.
The Bison (16-10, 9-0 NEAC) will head to Reading, Pa., for a
NEAC crossover weekend hosted by Penn St.-Berks, between Cazenovia
College (1-16, 1-7 NEAC) at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18, and facing
Keuka College (8-11, 7-0 NEAC) and SUNY Cobleskill (10-11, 1-7
NEAC) at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., respectively, on Sunday, Oct. 19.
