Men's volleyball season comes to a close

TAKOMA PARK, Md. – The first varsity season for the Gallaudet University men's volleyball program since 1984 came to a close Sunday as the Bison dropped their last two matches of the 2013 season.

Gallaudet (1-20) made the short trip to Takoma Park, Md., to face two non-conference opponents. The Bison lost in straight sets to St. Joseph's (Brooklyn) 20-25, 23-25, 24-26.

In the last match of the season the Bison fell to Washington Adventist University in four sets. GU dropped the first set 23-25 but rallied to win the second set 25-21. The host Shock won the final two sets 21-25, 20-25 to end the match.

GU went 0-3 this season against Washington Adventist. Gallaudet's lone victory was a 3-1 victory over conference foe Cazenovia College.

The Bison will look to build off their first varsity season in decades and prepare for the 2014 season under head coach Heather Hollidge.
