Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

SALISBURY, Md. – The Gallaudet University baseball team dropped two games Sunday on the road against nationally ranked Salisbury University as the Bison lost 11-4 and 14-0 in seven-inning games at the SU Baseball Field.

Things started off on the right foot for the Gallaudet (4-8) as it took an early 1-0 lead in the first game as the Bison plated a run in the top of the first inning. Salisbury (8-2), ranked No. 7 in Division III, answered with two runs in the bottom half of the first. The Bison knotted the game at 2-2 on a solo home run by junior Chris Guinn (McLoud, Okla.) that cleared the fence in left center field. The Bison stayed within striking distance of the Sea Gulls and only trailed 6-3 heading into the fifth inning. Salisbury tacked on five additional runs to break open the game en route to the 11-4 victory.

Sophomore starting pitcher Brandon Holsworth (Beal City, Mich.), the reigning North Eastern Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week, had a rough outing as he allowed nine runs on 13 hits, walked six and struck out two in 4 2/3 innings. Guinn led the Bison offense with his first home run of the season, a double and scored twice.

Salisbury senior pitcher Andrew Levy (3-0) pitched a complete game as he surrendered four runs (two earned) on eight hits, walked two and struck out seven. Evan Graci drove in four runs as he went 2-for-3 for the Sea Gulls.

The second game was dominated by Salisbury and its sophomore pitcher Brett Collacchi (2-0) who took a no-hitter into the seventh inning. GU pinch hitter Brad Stockdill (Charlotte, N.C.) struck out before junior Jeremy Murphy (Owings Mills, Md.) stepped to the plate in place of junior William Bissell (Brewer, Maine). Murphy was down to his last strike before he singled to right field to end the no-hit bid.

Guinn (0-2) took the loss for the Bison on the mound as he lasted four innings and gave up nine runs on 11 hits, walked two and tallied one strikeout.

The Bison return home to host Frostburg State University on Wednesday, March 13, at 2 p.m.
