GU's Danny Kelly records a season-high 25 points as Bison get by Wells, 59-56

AURORA, N.Y. – Senior center Danny Kelly (Strongsville, Ohio) netted a season-high 25 points as Gallaudet University squeaked out a 59-56 men's basketball victory over North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) foe Wells College on the road Sunday.

Kelly scored 13 of his 25 points in the second half as Gallaudet improved to 8-9 overall and 4-3 in the NEAC South Division. Kelly finished with his third double-double of the year as he grabbed 10 rebounds. Senior guard Layton Seeber (Champaign, Ill.) added 18 points while senior Jocus Houston (Baton Rouge, La.) and sophomore Ben Coleman (St. Paris, Ohio) chipped in seven each.

Wells (6-9, 2-3 NEAC North) was led by Jonathan Bonds' 14 points, eight rebounds and Jonathan Hurtado's 12 points and seven rebounds. The Express led 33-28 at halftime. Wells held a huge advantage down in the paint as the Express outscored GU, 42-12.

Gallaudet will next face NEAC foe Penn St.-Harrisburg on Wednesday, Jan. 16, at 8 p.m.
