Box Score 2 SALISBURY, Md. – Gallaudet University won two matches Saturday on the second day of the Sea Gull Classic hosted by Salisbury University as the Bison complete the two-day women's volleyball tournament with a 3-1 record. GU defeated Centenary (N.J.) in straight sets (25-5, 25-6, 25-16) and then went the distance against Baldwin Wallace in a 3-2 win.
Gallaudet (10-3) won the first set, 26-24, against Baldwin Wallace but then dropped the second and third sets by the same 18-25 score. The Bison regrouped and rallied to take the fourth set 25-17 and walked through the fifth set with a dominant 15-6 win. Seniors Ann Whited (Fishers, Ind.) and Jessica Israel (Frederick, Md.) were named to the all-tournament team.
Salisbury (13-1), ranked No. 24 in the nation, finished the weekend undefeated (4-0) as the host Sea Gulls won by 3-0 margins in all matches but Friday night's 3-1 Gallaudet match. Baldwin Wallace finished the Sea Gull Classic with a 2-2 record followed by DeSales at 1-3 and Centenary was winless.
GU will next travel to Baltimore to face in-region foe Johns Hopkins University on Thursday, Sept. 20, at 7 p.m.
