Box Score

LANCASTER, Pa. – The Gallaudet University men's basketball team trailed for the first time this season at halftime of a North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) game on Wednesday down 34-27 against Lancaster Bible College. The Bison came out and played the final 20 minutes lights out as they scored a season-high 45 points in the second half to win their fifth straight conference game 72-55 on the road.

Gallaudet (7-6, 5-0 NEAC South Division) outscored Lancaster Bible 45-21 in the decisive second half. The 24-point margin is the largest in a second half this season for the Bison. The Bison made 19-of-29 shots from the field (65.5 percent) in the second half and sank 50 percent of their three-point attempts (3 for 6). GU used a 19-2 run in a 10-minute stretch in the second half to break open a 48-47 lead with 13 minutes left in regulation to being up 67-49 with 3:32 left.

Junior forward Danny Kelly (Strongsville, Ohio) scored 16 of his game-high 23 points in the second half. He finished the game with 12 rebounds (11 defensive boards) to notch his third double-double of the season and his first since Nov. 20.

GU senior forward Layton Seeber (Champaign, Ill.) came alive in the second half as well as he scored 12 of his 16 points in the final 20 minutes of the game. Seeber finished with six rebounds, two steals, two assists and two blocks as he made 50 percent of his shots (6 for 12). Fellow senior Brandon McMillan (Frederick, Md.) was the third Bison to net a double-figure point total in the second half as he tallied 11 points as he made 5-of-6 shots.

The Bison had one other player reach double digits for points as senior guard Tony Tatum (Gardendale, Ala.) had 10 points, four assists, three steals and two rebounds in the win.

Lancaster Bible (2-9, 1-4 NEAC South Division) was led offensively by Corey Leonard's 10 points, six rebounds, four assists and three steals.

The game was the first home NEAC contest for the Chargers in program history. The two teams met a month ago in Washington, D.C., where the Bison won 74-54 in the conference opener for both teams. That game marked the first-ever NEAC game for the LBC men's basketball program.

Gallaudet returns home for a weekend NEAC doubleheader against Keuka College and Wells College. The Bison will look to add to their winning streak against the Storm on Saturday, Jan. 14, at 2 p.m.
