Washington,
D.C. - The Gallaudet vs. Christendom double header kicked off
at 2 PM under some daunting clouds and scattered showers. However,
the teams were able to get both games in, and Gallaudet made the
most of it. Freshmen sensation Jeremy Shepps (Mechanicsburg,
Pennsylvania/Cumberland Valley) took the mound for the Bison in
Game 1, and he brought his A-game with him. Shepps jumped out
to a fast start, striking out 4 in the first two innings. He
would continue his dominant ways for a complete game win, finishing
with 9 punch outs. Offensively, the Bison used a team effort
to put up 5 runs. This would prove to be more than enough for
Shepps on the mound, as the Bison cruised to 5-1 victory.
Playing in his last game for the Gallaudet Bison, senior John Moore
(Frederick, Maryland/Maryland School f/t Deaf) took the bump for
manager Curtis Pride in game two. It was another dominating
performance by a Gallaudet started as Moore followed up teammate
Jeremy Shepps game 1 compete game victory with a gem of his
own. Moore went the distance for Gallaudet and picked up the
win in his last collegiate game. Again, the Gallaudet bats
put a 5 spot on the board to aid their starter.
