Box Score YORK, Pa. - For the second straight week the
Gallaudet University women's basketball team made history as the
Bison defeated York (Pa.) College 70-44 on the road Wednesday
evening at the Charles Wolf Gymnasium. The victory ends a 19-game
losing streak to the Spartans dating back to January 19, 2000, when
GU last beat York with a 67-64 win in York, Pa.
This is second consecutive Capital Athletic Conference win for
Gallaudet (4-3, 2-1 CAC) as the Bison sit in third-place in the
conference standings. The two CAC wins is the most since the
2004-05 season. One more CAC win would give Gallaudet the most
conference wins since the 1999-2000 season when the Bison finished
with a 9-5 mark.
The 26-point loss for York (3-4, 0-1 CAC) is the worst at home

happened on February 2, 2008, when University of Mary Washington
won 92-64. The loss also snapped a 19-game regular-season
conference winning streak for the Spartans.
Junior center Easter Faafiti (Pittsburg,
Calif.), the CAC Player of the Week, led the Bison with 16 points,
nine rebounds and seven steals. GU had four players in double point
figures including Faafiti, freshman Shaquana

recorded the lone double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds to
go with eight assists. McDonough made 15 points, grabbed six
rebounds and came up with three steals. Hayes came off the bench to
score 12 points as the GU starting five netted 58 of the 70 team
points.
York hit four 3-pointers to begin the game as the Spartans led
14-13 midway through the first half. That was York's last lead as
Faafiti converted on a three-point play and netted seven straight
points as the Bison took a 30-28 advantage into halftime.
Gallaudet went on a 19-4 run to begin the second half as the
Bison outscored the Spartans 40-16 in the final 20 minutes of play.

rebounds in the loss. York still holds the series advantage 36-11
over Gallaudet.
Gallaudet returns home to host City College of New York in a
non-conference game on Saturday, December 12, at Noon in the Field
