SALISBURY, MD--The visiting Sea Gulls picked up a pair of wins
over the Buff and Blue with 12-0 and 19-0 decisions in conference
doubleheader action.
Gallaudet combined for just six hits over both games next to
Salisbury(22-1, 8-0 CAC)'s 29. Bison pitcher Ryan Lentz worked a
complete game in game 1, with freshman Zane Noschese and Kevin
Alley seeing mound time over game 2. Noschese fanned two Gulls,
while Lentz picked up a strikeout.
John Moore, Jr. and Adrian DeHoyos both picked up hits in game 1.
Moore, Jr.'s came in the top of the fourth while DeHoyos singled in
the sixth. He was tagged out as Noschese grounded out into a double
play to end the inning.
In game 2, Kevin Alley went 2-for-2 at the plate with Noschese and
Christian Deaton picking up the other hits.
The Bison nearly averted a shutout in the sixth inning when an
Alley hit advanced Noschese to third. When Moore, Jr. hit a pop-fly
to shallow left field, Salisbury's shortstop picked Noschese off as
he was running home.
Gallaudet (1-17, 0-13 CAC) continues its weekend road trip against
Villa Julie College in a conference doubleheader on Sunday, March
30. The first pitch goes at noon.
