WASHINGTON, D.C.--Head coach Matt Lisle notched his first
victory with the Bison baseball program in a 30-7 decision over the
Christendom College Crusaders. Junior John Moore, Jr. led the
offense in a 6-for-7 outing, scoring four runs and posting four
RBI.
Christendom got on the board first with a run off a RBI double
in the top of the opening inning. Gallaudet capitalized on
Crusader errors and converted opportunities into runs with a six
hit, eight-run inning and never looked back after that point.
For the first time this season, the Bison scored at least twice
or more in every inning, producing 30 runs off 18 hits and 16 bases
on balls. The only opening that the Bison gave the Crusaders was in
the top of the fourth, when the visitors tacked on four runs off
Bison errors to try and stage a rally. However, Gallaudet kept the
door closed with consistent fielding on defense and solid pitching
efforts between Warren Keller, Justin Lathus and John Moore, Jr.
Keller earned his first victory of the season, giving him a 1-1
record as a pitcher.
The Bison (1-7, 0-4 CAC) resume conference play as hosts to York
College on Wednesday, March 12. The first pitch is set for 3:30
p.m. at Hoy Field.
