Gallaudet Wins First Night Game at Hotchkiss Field 40-6

Over 2,000 fans witnessed the first ever night football game at Hotchkiss Field, and the final home game of the team's seniors, and they witnessed the best game the Bison played all year, as Gallaudet defeated Williamson Trade, 40-6.

Six different players scored one touchdown apiece for Gallaudet in a balanced scoring effort. Gallaudet scored a touchdown in every quarter of the game.  The first score in the first quarter came on a 13 yard run by Scott Lehmann.  In the second quarter Derrick Williams caught a 28 yard pass from Fletch Kuehne and Dmitry Rossoshansky ran for a 21 yard touchdown.  In the third quarter, Michael Gimeli scored on the first play from scrimmage of the second half, on a 66 yard scamper down the right sideline. Kevin Alley caught a 49 yard pass from Kuehne later in the quarter.  In the fourth quarter, Travis Oshman caught an 18 yard touchdown pass from Kuehne.

For the game, Gallaudet rushed for 332 yards, and held Williamson Trade to just 73 yards. Gallaudet averaged 7.2 yards a carry as the offensive lines opened holes for the running backs all game long. Thanks to the efforts of the offensive line, Gallaudet punted just twice in the game. Lehmann led Gallaudet with 105 yards rushing, and Kuehne added 102.

The Gallaudet defense had 3 interceptions and 3 sacks. Michael Hollran and Adam Tygart led the defense with 6 tackles. Tygart also had one interception return. Martin Blomquist and Jared Vollmer also had an interception.

With the win, Gallaudet goes to 2-7 on the season.  The win is the first for the team under the new lights and artificial turf of Hotchkiss Field. Next week, Gallaudet will travel to Wesley College for their final game of the season, November 15 at 2 pm.
