WASHINGTON, DC--The fall heat did not deter the Buff and Blue
when they went up against the Warriors in a 44-0 rout. It took the
Bison all of four minutes after the opening kickoff to get on the
scoreboard off a Dan Alexander punch-in. However, this would be the
only offensive output for the quarter until quarterback Jason
Coleman (7-16, 186 yds. passing, 1 int/116 yds. rushing) ran into
the end zone for the touchdown and the two-point conversion.
Dima Rossoshansky was Coleman's back of choice today, averaging
6.5 yards per touch over 13 carries for 87 yards and a
touchdown. Freshman back Scott Lehmann saw action, as he notched
his first score at Gallaudet off a five-yard run. Offensive
coordinator Ryan Hite unleashed Tamir Armwood, an all-purpose back,
who scrambled for 60 yards on only 6 carries, to lead the team
rushing average at 9.8 yards per carry. Armwood also scored in the
second half. By day's end, the Bison would rack up 526 yards total
offense, 340 yards from the legs of the backfield corps. In the
air, junior Derrick Williams had 78 yards off three catches, with
Fletch Kuehne and Kevin Alley each had two catches for a combined
108 yards. All three receivers had long receptions, with 42, 46 and
36 yards, respectively.

defense
The Bison defense scored a touchdown, making it two straight
games with scores. Junior cornerback Marty Blomquist had two
interceptions, one that was returned 45 yards for a touchdown in
the closing minutes of the second half. Sophomore Javier
Goodwin added two points off a Warrior stop for a safety in their
own end zone. Linebacker Joshua Doudt led the Bison defense,
chomping down on Warriors for 8.5 tackles, 7 of which were solos.
Doudt also picked off a Warrior pass, with brother Calvin following
suit for his second consecutive game with an interception.
Hit-happy cornerback Robin Shannon was right behind, with 7.5
tackles and two sacks, including three for losses.
Freshman linebacker Richard Bailey had 6 tackles and a sack,
with cornerback Justin Wilson rounding off defensive leaders,
notching 4.5.
Coach Hottle earned another victory kiss from his wife following
the game. The Bison begin to gear up for Greensboro College in the
next showdown at Hotchkiss Field on Saturday, September 15. Kickoff
is set for 1:00 p.m.
