Liza Offreda

  • Title
    Assistant Coach

Coach Offreda is in her fourth year as an assistant coach for the women’s soccer team. She is a firm believer in the importance of academics as a supplement to the hard work it takes to meet the demands of a college athlete. Coach Offreda emphasizes, “Student first and athlete second.” She says, “I take pride in supporting Gallaudet University's students in balancing both worlds as a student and athlete.”

Coach Offreda is currently an English teacher at Laurent Clerc National Deaf Education Center on Gallaudet’s campus. She is originally from East Ruthorford, N.J.

As an undergraduate student, Coach Offreda played soccer at Farleigh Dickinson University before transferring and continuing to play at Montclair State University where she was named All-NJAC (New Jersey Athletic Conference) Second-team in 2010. She graduated from MSU with a bachelor’s degree in English education that same year before earning her master’s degree in deaf education from Gallaudet in 2012.

Coach Offreda is also a member of the United States Deaf National Soccer Team. She has won two gold medals, one at the 2009 Summer Deaflympics in Tapei, Taiwan and one at the 2012 Deaf World Cup in Ankara, Turkey.
