Gumina enters her eighth year as head coach of the GallaudetUniversity women's soccer team in 2014. Gumina has also served asGallaudet's Title IX Coordinator for the past five years.

Prior to the start of the 2013-14 school year, she led a groupof student-athletes to Uganda to promote soccer and deaf education,a mission she hopes to go on every two years with her players. TheBison finished the season with an overall record of 2-14-2 and1-9-1 in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) play. Seniorgoalkeeper Kara Gulvas was named to the All-NEAC third team.

In 2012 the Bison finished the season with a 5-14 overallrecord, 3-9 in conference play. Junior goalie Kara Gulvas recordedthe most saves in NCAA Division III with 226. 

At the conclusion of the 2011 season the Bison held a 2-15record. Despite the record, Gumina coached two players earningAll-NEAC honors; one player to the All-NEAC second team and one tothe All-NEAC third team.

In 2010 the Bison finished the season with an overall record of7-11, making 2010 the winningest season since 2002 when Gumina ledthe Bison to  a 7-10-1 record and secured the program's onlyCapital Athletic Conference win. Gallaudet University also joinedthe North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) in 2010. Two membersof the team were named to the All-NEAC second team.

Gumina led the Bison to a 6-12-1 record in '09 where GU was6-5-1 at home. The six wins are the second most in Gumina's tenure.Gumina has coached one CAC Rookie of the Year and oneall-conference player in Shaquana McDonough in '09.

Gumina moved to Maryland in 2001 to serve as an assistant coachon the GU women's soccer staff under Head Coach Elijah Gold. In2002, she took over as the head coach and led GU to its firstconference win and broke the school record for goals in a seasonwith 42 and reached seven wins, second most in schoolhistory. 

Gumina has a firm philosophy on the priorities of astudent-athlete. Academics need to be at the forefront of astudent's college career followed closely by their athleticresponsibilities. While it can be a difficult balancing act, it isimperative that the student-athlete maintains 100 percentcommitment to both.

Gumina holds a bachelor's degree in Deaf Studies from TowsonUniversity and is also a certified sign language interpreter. Shealso holds a Advanced National Diploma from the National SoccerCoaches Association of America (NSCAA). Gumina was a member of theTSC Maryland Pride from 2007-09, a women's soccer semi-professionalteam, which plays in the Women's Premier Soccer League.

Gumina started her collegiate career at University of CentralFlorida (UCF) in Orlando on scholarship under Coach Karen Richter.She played two seasons for the Knights before she transferred toUniversity of South Florida (USF) in Tampa to play for Coach LoganFleck. She played one year in the United Soccer League (USL) withthe Tampa Bay Extreme after college.

In high school she lettered in soccer, softball and crosscountry at Apopka High School in Orlando. Gumina graduated with theschool record for goals scored in a career at Apopka. She earnedAll-State and All-County honors in soccer. Gumina was selected tothe Florida State Olympic Development Program (ODP).

Gumina currently resides in Millersville, Md.
