Coach Brown enters his fourth year at Gallaudet University where he will serve as the Assistant Head Coach/Safeties coach in 2016.

Last season, Brown was the Defensive Coordinator and served the previous two seasons as the Linebackers Coach and Recruiting Coordinator.

In 2013, Brown coached the linebackers on a defense that was ranked ninth in Division III in total defense (264.5 yards per game) and tops in the conference. Last year, the Gallaudet defense was ranked third in the ECFC and 23rd overall (282.8). Brown has coached three-time All-ECFC linebacker Jaris Alleyne, who was named to the first team in 2013, ’14, and Gregg McConville, an honorable mention All-ECFC selection in 2014.

Prior to coming to GU, Brown was the head Strength & Conditioning Coordinator and Defensive Line Coach at Louisburg College assisting the Hurricanes to their best record in school history and a first-ever trip to a bowl game. In addition, Brown brought on a strong recruiting class to contribute to the school’s record setting season.

Brown joined the Hurricanes after one season as the Defensive Coordinator and Strength Coach for the 2012 state champion Virginia Episcopal School located in Lynchburg, Va.

Brown began his coaching career in 2010 as the Co-Defensive Coordinator and Linebacker Coach for the Coventry Jets of the British American Football Association (BAFA) premiership in the United Kingdom, and led the Jets to the Britbowl championship finale in his first season.

Before coaching, Brown played professionally as a linebacker/fullback for the Kansas City Brigade of the Arena Football League (AFL). He also played linebacker for the Bolzano Giants of the Italian Football League  (IFL), located in Bolzano, Italy. Brown has attended workouts and camps conducted by the NFL, CFL and AFL.

He served as the head coach for the Egyptian National Football Team in the winter of 2014 where he was responsible for organization and selection of the team, practice and game planning and making the first African National Game appearance for the program.

Brown is a native of Detroit, Michigan, but graduated from E.C. Glass High School in Virginia, where he was a two sport athlete in football and basketball. After high school, he attended Fork Union Military Academy’s postgraduate program and from there received a football scholarship to attend the University of Memphis. Upon the completion of his sophomore year, Brown transferred to Morgan State University and finished his college career with the Bears.

In 2003, Brown was nominated to the All-MEAC first team and named Rookie of the Year. He was also presented the Iron Man Award for leading the Bears with 98 tackles, 68 solo, 22 for loss over 100 yards and seven sacks. In 2004 Brown received preseason All-American honors. He was also runner-up for MEAC Defensive Player of the Year, an All-MEAC first team selection and was named team captain. Brown had over a 130 tackles his senior year and received several other awards during his senior season.

He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications from Morgan State University in May of 2007.
