Sophomore Season (2013): Played in six games for the Bison...member of Gallaudet's first men's team sport to make a NCAA tournament appearance...helped the Bison win their first Eastern Collegiate Football Conference championship...team tied a school record nine wins in a season...team set a school record with an 11-game winning streak dating back to the 2012 season.

Freshman Season (2012): Appeared in six games for the Bison…recorded a tackle for loss.

Before Gallaudet: Attended Leigh High School…played four years of football and track and field…named Central Coast Section All-League.

Personal: Son of Kevin and Virginia Maiwald…has an older sister, Meghan…enjoys watching Breaking Bad…favorite movie is Fight Club…role model is Carl Sagan…favorite athlete is Patrick Willis…fan of the San Francisco 49ers, San Francisco Giants, San Jose Sharks and San Jose Earthquakes.
