LEBANON, Pa. – The Gallaudet University women's cross country team opened the 2026 season Saturday morning at the Dutchmen Invitational hosted by Lebanon Valley College at Union Canal Tunnel Park.

The Bison had five runners complete the 5-kilometer course to post a team score of 411 points and finish 14th overall among the 14 scoring teams. The meet featured 138 finishers.

Sophomore Jala Furdge (Brandon, Miss.) led the Bison contingent as she crossed the finish line in 112th place with a time of 28 minutes, 15.6 seconds.

First-year runner Natalie Greene (Houston, Texas) made her collegiate cross country debut and was the second Bison to finish with a time of 29:43.1 to place 116th overall.

Junior Ashley Morales-Juan (Oklahoma City, Okla.) was next for the buff and blue as she finished 125th overall in 32:43.6. First-year runner Dev Sklar (Brooklyn, N.Y.), another newcomer to the cross country program, completed the course in 35:42.1 to place 130th.

First year Tori Cushshon (St. Louis, Mo.) rounded out Gallaudet's five finishers with a time of 47:26.9 to place 138th overall.

Millersville University (NCAA Division II) won the team competition with 24 points. Host Lebanon Valley College was second with 91 points, followed by McDaniel College in third with 94 points.

Garden State Track Club runner Bailey Mullen was the overall individual winner in 18:46.7, while Hood College's Maya Carey was the top collegiate finisher and placed second overall in 19:19.6.

Saturday's season-opening meet also gave the Bison an early look at Union Canal Tunnel Park, the same course where Gallaudet will return for the 2026 United East Conference Championship on Oct. 31.
