WASHINGTON - The Gallaudet University women's volleyball team began the 19th annual Worthington Classic here Friday evening on Padden Court in the Field House against Arcadia University. The Bison dropped the match in straight sets as the Knights won, 15-25, 19-25, 19-25.
Senior outide hitter
Brielle Worley (Amarillo, Texas) tallied 15 kills on 43 swings and four errors to post a .256 hitting percentage. Worley added seven digs and two service aces. Senior outside hitter
Jada Zarembka (Riverside, Calif.) led the Bison with 13 digs and tallied two aces and two blocks. Graduate student
Bri Eilderts (Omaha, Neb.) finished with three kills and two blocks (one solo) while first-year setter
Gracie Gloster (Clark, N.J.) passed out 23 assists and made 11 digs to complete the double-double.
Arcadia (10-2) was paced by junior outside hitter Devon Young's 10 kills, junior setter Bryana Saenz passed out 18 assists while first-year libero Avery Bell made a match-high 26 digs in the win.
This was the third meeting between the Bison and the Knights as the two teams have meet in even years since 2022. GU is 1-2 against Arcadia with the Bison picking up a 3-1 win on Sept. 7, 2024.
In the nightcap, University of Mount Union defeated Eastern University in four sets, 3-1. The Purple Raiders (11-2) dropped the first set 23-25 to the Eagles (3-6) before storming back to win 26-24, 25-19, 25-21.

Gallaudet will play Mount Union tomorrow (Saturday, Sept. 26) at 10 a.m. and later face Eastern University at 4 p.m. Arcadia and Eastern will play at noon while the Knights face the Purple Raiders at 2 p.m.
