LATHAM, N.Y. - Gallaudet University had five teams earn 2025-26 Team Academic Awards as announced by the United East Conference.
This is the fourth year the Team Academic Awards have been bestowed to United East sponsored programs that achieved a team GPA of a 3.25 or higher during the 2025-26 academic year.
Gallaudet's five teams to earn Team Academic Awards include men's volleyball (3.52 GPA), women's basketball (3.47), men's cross country (3.38), women's cross country (3.33) and women's volleyball (3.25). This is the fourth selections for both women's basketball and women's volleyball, the second for women's cross country and men's volleyball and first for men's cross country.
This year, 102 teams from all 15 core members of the United East earned this distinction.
Penn State Harrisburg and St. Mary's College of Maryland led all members with 13 programs collecting Team Academic Awards, while Cairn University's women's cross country team topped all teams with a 3.86 GPA.
A total of 20 of the 21 United East sponsored sports had at least one team earn the award.
