WASHINGTON – The Gallaudet University athletics department inducted 15 student athletes into the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society on May 5 for demonstrating excellence in athletics and academics. A full list of inductees is below.
To be eligible a student-athlete must have a 3.40 grade point average or higher, must be of good moral character, be a varsity sport letterwinner and achieve junior academic standing or higher after their fifth full-time semester.
This is Gallaudet's 12th Chi Alpha Sigma class as the chapter was established in 2013-14. There was no induction class in 2020-21 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. GU honored the new class at the annual athletics banquet, the GSPY, in the Field House. Faculty Athletics Representative Stacy Nowak presented new inductees a medal and graduating seniors received black and yellow honor cords and a Chi Alpha Sigma graduation stole to wear on graduation day.
Members of previous years classes, who are now graduating seniors, also received honor cords and graduation stoles during the banquet they include; Olivia Armstrong (women's cross country, track and field), Austin Baker (men's volleyball), Kathylean Colon (cheerleading), Ashley Corcoran (women's triathlon), Tyler Conner (football), Ella Gamble (women's volleyball), Jacob Hundley (football), Carter Johnson (football), Kodi Lee (men's volleyball), Citrine Lummer (women's flag football, volleyball) and Reza Mosher (STUNT).
This year's induction class represents 10 different varsity sports and they hail from nine different states and four different countries.
