FERRUM, Va. – The Gallaudet University women's flag football team dropped a hard-fought 13-12 decision on the road Friday afternoon to No. 9 Ferrum College, a NCAA Division II program, at W.B. Adams Stadium.
The loss is the first in program history for Gallaudet (7-1) and snaps a 14-game winning streak dating back to the program's inaugural 2025 season.
Ferrum (13-3) scored twice in the second quarter to take a 13-0 lead into halftime and held off a second-half rally by the 19th ranked Bison.
Gallaudet got on the board in the third quarter as sophomore quarterback
Gianna Visco (Riverside, Calif.) capped a scoring drive with a rushing touchdown to cut the deficit to 13-6. The Bison trimmed the margin to one point early in the fourth quarter when sophomore
Citrine Lummer (Frederick, Md.) intercepted a pass and returned it five yards for a touchdown.
The Bison were unable to convert on either extra-point attempt and could not complete the comeback in the closing minutes.
Visco completed 22 of 36 passes for 248 yards and added 43 rushing yards on 24 attempts. Lummer led all receivers with 11 catches for 171 yards and added a team-high 10 tackles, two interceptions and one pass breakup on defense. Sophomore wide receiver

The Panthers defense recorded seven sacks and four interceptions in the win.
Friday's game featured two nationally ranked teams in the Women's College Flag Football Playmaker's Corner Rankings, with Ferrum ranked No. 9 and Gallaudet No. 19, as the Bison faced their stiffest test to date.
Gallaudet entered the season as the self-proclaimed 2025 Club National Champions for Women's Flag Football after a perfect 7-0 inaugural campaign.

Gallaudet will have a week to regroup and will travel to Allentown, Pa., next Saturday, April 11, for two United East games on the campus of Cedar Crest College.
