GU dominates in two lopsided conference wins on the road

LANGHORNE, Pa. – It was business as usual for the Gallaudet University women's flag football team on Saturday afternoon on the campus of Cairn University.

Gallaudet (3-0, 3-0 United East) flexed its muscle and posted back-to-back lopsided conference victories to remain perfect this season.

The Bison dispatched Keystone College, 54-14, and the host Highlanders from Cairn, 32-6. This was the second straight game Gallaudet scored 54 points in a game.

Sophomore quarterback Gianna Visco (Riverside, Calif.) completed 15 of 23 passes for 155 yards and five touchdowns and one interception against the Giants from Keystone. Visco's favorite targets were sophomore Citrine Lummer (Frederick, Md.) and Jada Zarembka (Riverside, Calif.).

Lummer hauled in eight passes for 111 yards and two scores. Lummer also threw one touchdown and ran in a touchdown as GU scored seven touchdowns on the day against Keystone. Lummer finished with four tackles and one interception returned 22 yards.

Zarembka caught seven passes for 53 yards and three touchdowns and led the team with five tackles and three pass breakups. First year Tamara Tadevosyan (Austin, Texas) caught the sixth receiving touchdown for the Bison.

First year Sofia Giansanti (Rome, Italy) led the team with two interceptions for 13 yards and one pass breakup.

Keystone quarterback Desiree Stamps finished the game 12-for-28, 154 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions while wide receiver Phaneirra Barnett had eight catches for 145 yards and two scores. The Giants had no luck running the ball against the stout Bison defense that pushed Keystone back -26 yards rushing in the game.

In the second game for the Bison, the visitors scored in every quarter and held a 13-6 lead at the half over the Highlanders. In the second half, Gallaudet outscored Cairn 19-0 en route to the 32-6 win at the Stillman Complex Turf Field.
