NEW YORK – The Gallaudet University women's volleyball team bounced back here Saturday at the NYU Invitational and picked up two wins.
Gallaudet (4-3) started the day with a sweep over Susquehanna University (0-4); 25-10, 25-4, 25-22 and got a payback win over Stevens Institute of Technology (3-2), who eliminated the Bison last year at the NCAA Division III Tournament first round with the score 3-2; 22-25, 25-20, 24-26, 25-17,15-6.
GU had three players who recorded double figures in kills in the first match. Junior outside hitter
Brielle Worley (Amarillo, Texas) led the buff and blue with 17 kills while senior outside hitter
Citrine Lummer (Frederick, Md.) tallied 11 kills. Junior middle hitter
Jada Zarembka (Riverside, Calif.) is next with 10 kills. Senior setter
Ella Gamble (Cullowhee, N.C.) passed out 36 assists and served up six aces.
In the thrilling second match, Worley matched her career-high with 30 kills followed by Zarembka with 15 kills. Gamble led the team in three categories with aces (seven), blocks (five) and assists (49). The seven service aces was Gamble's season high. Nicole Hicks (Corona, Calif.) made a match-high 19 digs.
The Bison has 33 service aces in the two matches led by Gamble's 13 total aces.

Gallaudet will make the short trip over to Arlington, Va., on Tuesday, Sept. 9, to play Marymount (Va.) University (2-4) at 7 p.m.
