MIDLOTHIAN, Va. – The Gallaudet University women's triathlon team turned in its strongest collective performance of the season at the Robious Landing Triathlon, hosted by the Live Red Foundation.
The Bison placed 12th out of 14 teams with a score of 86 points, finishing ahead of Newberry College and Hampton University. The race featured a 650-meter downriver swim in the James River, followed by an 11.2-mile draft-legal bike and a 5K run through wooded trails and neighborhood roads.
Gallaudet was led by sophomore
Ashley Corcoran (Broussard, La.), who crossed the line in 1 hour, 21 minutes, and 22 seconds — her fastest time to date. First year
Jasmine Jimenez Lara (Gilroy, Calif.) followed in 1:24:00, also notching a personal best. Sophomore
Alecia Miller (Litchfield, Ill.) continued her steady improvement with a 1:25:32 finish.
First years
Marcella Shular (Colorado Springs, Colo.),
Melany Salcedo Benavides (Woodbridge, Va.),
Adelle Patton (Puyallup, Wash.), and
Brianna Doolittle (Austin, Texas) also achieved personal bests, finishing in 1:30:12, 1:34:51, 1:35:58, and 1:39:19 respectively. Every Bison athlete on the course set a new personal best, marking a significant step forward for the program.

The team will now spend the next few weeks training in preparation for the upcoming Women's Collegiate Triathlon East Regional Championship on October 25, 2025 at Troutman, N.C.
