Bison come up short in Tristan Torbett Kick-Off Classic finale

WASHINGTON - It was not the result they were hoping for, as the Gallaudet University men's soccer team lost 5-0 to Mid-Atlantic Christian University on Sunday afternoon at Hotchkiss Field, on the final day of the Tristan Torbett Kick-Off Classic.

The two teams played a strong and physical first half, with both sides recording seven shots apiece.

Gallaudet (0-2) kept the game scoreless for the first nine minutes before Mid-Atlantic Christian (1-1) got on the scoreboard. On the 15th minute mark Junior midfielder Joe Bryan (Liberty, Mo.) had a chance to equalize on a penalty kick, but his shot struck the crossbar. The Mustangs added a second goal in the 38th minute to take a 2–0 advantage into halftime.

In the second half, MAC added three more goals to seal the victory in front of a crowd of 157.

Sophomore forward Luke McBrine (Weymouth, Mass.) led the team with three shots. He was one of five Gallaudet players to put a shot on goal.

First-year goalie John McCabe (Norwalk, Conn.) finished the game with two saves.
