INDIANAPOLIS – Gallaudet University's Athletic Director
Warren Keller, '10, has been selected to present in TED Sports' special event Game Changing Ideas in Sports being held September 9-11, 2025, at the Old National Centre in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Keller plans to speak about how Deaf people throughout history have influenced the evolution of sports, along with Gallaudet's cutting-edge innovations that are advancing inclusion for all.
"I was both surprised and humbled when I was invited to speak. Honestly, I had to read the message several times just to believe it was really happening," said Keller. "It's an incredible honor and a meaningful responsibility to share a message that reflects all that Deaf people have contributed to society, especially in sports. Gallaudet University has a long and proud history of being a positive force in so many areas of life."
TED Sports is part of the globally recognized TED series, known for highlighting powerful talks and ideas worth spreading across technology, entertainment, and design. This first-ever TED event focused entirely on sports will feature three days of engaging panels, fireside chats, interactive workshops, discovery sessions, curated dining experiences, and main stage presentations designed to spark ideas, ignite conversations, and build lasting connections.
Keller added, "I'm deeply grateful to everyone who paved the way for moments like this — those who fought, built, coached, competed, and believed. This moment is not mine alone; it belongs to all of us who have stood on the field, beside the track, or behind the scenes, pushing for something greater. Being able to share our story is not just an opportunity, it's an honor. As I began preparing these remarks, I found myself truly inspired. It gave me a chance to reflect on everything we've accomplished and the exciting future ahead."
The event will offer in-person ticketing, live streaming, and recorded footage. When event information becomes available it will be shared on the Gallaudet Bison social media platforms and this story will be updated with links.
