Gallaudet University athletics places 10th in 2024-25 United East Presidents' Cup standings

LATHAM, N.Y. - The Gallaudet University athletics program finished in 10th place out of 17 schools in the final 2024-25 United East Conference Presidents' Cup standings announced by the conference office.

The Presidents' Cup is determined by a scoring system which rewards a school for success during both regular season and postseason athletic competition. The standings for men's and women's athletic success are determined by percentage and not total points earned because some schools don't support all 20 sports sponsored by the conference.

St. Mary's College of Maryland won the 2024-25 Presidents' Cup for a third straight year as the Seahawks were followed by Penn State Harrisburg in second, Penn College in third, Lancaster Bible College in fourth, Cairn University in fifth, Penn St.-Abington in sixth, Keystone College in seventh, Penn St.-Berks in eighth, Saint Elizabeth University in ninth and Gallaudet rounds out the Top 10. The 11th through 17th places consisted of Cedar Crest College, Bryn Athyn College, Notre Dame of Maryland University, Wilson College, Penn St.-Brandywine, University of Valley Forge and Rosemont College. There were no ties this year.

The highest the Bison have placed all-time in the United East Presidents' Cup is fourth in 2010-11, GU's first season in the conference.

GU fielded six teams that competed on the women's side (basketball, cross country, indoor track and field, outdoor track and field, softball, volleyball) and six on the men's side (basketball, cross country, indoor track and field, outdoor track and field, soccer, volleyball) who competed in United East Conference play. The Bison finished seventh in the women's standings and 16th in the men's standings.

The St. Mary's Seahawks earned the Top Overall Athletic Program Women's Award while Penn State Harrisburg earned the Top Overall Athletic Program Men's Award. The 2024-25 year marks the second presentation of the men's and women's titles as these awards are holdovers from the former Colonial States Athletic Conference, which merged with the United East on July 1, 2023.
