WASHINGTON – The Gallaudet University athletics department inducted 17 student athletes into the Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society on May 1 for demonstrating excellence in athletics and academics. A full list of inductees is below.

To be eligible a student-athlete must have a 3.40 grade point average or higher, must be of good moral character, be a varsity sport letterwinner and achieve junior academic standing or higher after their fifth full-time semester.

This is Gallaudet's 11th Chi Alpha Sigma class as the chapter was established in 2013-14. There was no induction class in 2020-21 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. GU honored the new class at the annual athletics banquet, the GSPY, in the Field House. Faculty Athletics Representative Todd Bonheyo presented new inductees a medal and graduating seniors received black and yellow honor cords to wear on graduation day.

Members of previous years classes, who are now graduating seniors, also received honor cords during the banquet they include; Danielle Fisher (women's triathlon), Jaylen Johnson (football), Cotis Martinez (football, men's track and field), Blessed Mbogo (men's basketball), John Scarboro (football, men's volleyball), Kylar Sicoli (football), Kathe Wilken-Yoder (women's triathlon). 

This year's induction class represents eight different varsity, three club sports and they hail from 13 different states.
