Personal times posted by GU men's team on Day 2 of the 2025 Atlantic East championships

ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. - Gallaudet University men's swim team took on the second day of the 2025 Atlantic East Conference swimming championships this Friday at The Aquatics Center at the Michael P. O'Brien Athletics & Recreation Center on the campus of St. Mary's College of Maryland.

The competition began with preliminary events in the morning in which GU swam for placement in the finals that evening.

Kicking off the morning with the 500-yard freestyle, junior Abdullah Alghamdi (Dammam, Saudi Arabia) and first years Allen Davis (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) and Matteo Giansanti (Rome, Italy) all completed the race with times of 7:31.73, 8:23.79, and 11:07.08, respectively. The Bison trio finished in the same order and in the same places as they did the preliminaries, 12th, 13th, and 14th in the finals on Friday night. Notably, all three times improved from the morning, Alghamdi swam 7:15.61, Davis was 8:22.03, and Giansanti finished in 10:24.09 which is 43 seconds faster than the morning time.

Next came the 200-yard IM, the second consecutive event taken on by Alghamdi who finished in 13th place (3:04.81), less than a second after first-year teammate Alex Wilding (Santa Fe, N.M.) took 12th (3:04.16). Still within one second of each other in the finals competition, the men traded places resulting in Alghamdi finishing in 12th place (2:55.35) and Wilding in 13th (2:56.02) on Friday evening.

The third and final event of the day was the 50-yard freestyle, first year Eric Sarnouski (Rahway, N.J.) was the only Bison in this contest. Sarnouski's preliminary time of 59.94 seconds placed him in 14th place. Although he decreased his time by over two seconds (57.13) the swimmer remained in 14th place in the finals.

Gallaudet holds fifth place out of five teams with 80 total points.

Marymount (Va.) University continues to lead with 306 points, followed by St. Mary's College of Maryland in second place (267 points) and Marywood University in third (127). Immaculata University is in fourth place (107) and Gallaudet is in fifth (80).
