WASHINGTON – The Gallaudet University women's volleyball team celebrated a 3-1 victory in its final home match of the 2025 season as the Bison defeated The Catholic University of America here Thursday on Senior Night in the Field House.
Gallaudet (23-5) stayed hot and extended its winning streak to 17 straight with the 25-9, 21-25, 25-19, 25-22 win over the Cardinals. The Bison closed out their home schedule with a 12-2 record on the Padden Court.
The Bison jumped out to a dominant start with a 16-point win. Junior outside hitter
Brielle Worley (Amarillo, Texas) tallied seven of her match-high 26 kills in the first set. Gallaudet capitalized on Catholic's eight attack errors as the Cardinals posted a -.088 hitting percentage.
Catholic (13-14) responded in the second set with 15 kills and took advantage of Gallaudet's five service errors to claim a 21-25 win.
The buff and blue regrouped and bounced back in the next two sets. Gallaudet recorded 10 service aces and 28 kills to secure the 3-1 victory and close out the final home season on a high note.
Senior setter
Ella Gamble (Cullowhee, N.C.) notched her sixth double-double of the season with 46 assists and 12 digs. The NCAA Division III service ace leader tallied five more aces in the win. Senior outside hitter
Citrine Lummer (Frederick, Md.) had her sixth straight double-double and 13th time this season with a career-high 24 digs and 12 kills. Lummer added four service aces and made three blocks. Worley matched her career high with four blocks and added six digs. Junior middle hitter
Jada Zarembka (Riverside, Calif.) posted 10 digs, eight kills and two aces. Senior libero
Nicole Hicks (Corona, Calif.) recorded a match-high 26 digs. Senior middle hitter
Candace Broadnax (Springfield, Va.) made three blocks and finished with five kills
The Cardinals were led by Julia Raab's 16 kills, 11 digs and two blocks in the loss.
Gallaudet coach
Lynn Ray Boren honored the Bison seniors; Broadnax, Gamble, Hicks, and Lummer with a Senior Day video tribute displayed on the Jumbotron in American Sign Language (ASL) for the team, family, friends, students and fans.
UP NEXT
GU will conclude its 2025 season schedule this Saturday, Nov. 8, with two road matches. The Bison will travel to Eastern Mennonite University (6-19) for an 11 a.m. match before boarding the bus to head over to Bridgewater (Va.) College (18-7) for a 5 p.m. evening match.
