BRONX, N.Y. – The Gallaudet University men's basketball lost 92-70 to Lehman College here Saturday at The APEX Main Gym in a non-conference game.
Gallaudet (0-5 overall, 0-4 in NCAA play) shot 40.6 percent (26-for-64) from the field and scored 22 points off 11 turnovers made by the Lightning.
Lehman (4-4) pulled away from the Bison over the final four minutes of the first half as the Lightning went on a 14-5 run to take a 48-37 lead into the half. The Lightning shot 54.3 percent shooting percentage (19-for-35) from the field in the first half.
Sophomore guard
Alex Ortman (Norway, Mich.) led all-scorers in the game with 19 points off the bench. First-year guard
JeVaughn Sargent (Laurel, Md.) made his first career start for the Bison and finished with 17 points as he made five 3-pointers.
The Lightning dominated down in the post with 56 points in the paint as six different players finished in double figures. Lehman had four of its five starting players score 11 or more points in the game.

- Sophomore forward Wyatt Carlson (Hubertus, Wis.) led the Bison with eight rebounds
- Senior guard Bruce Brewer Jr. (Santa Fe, N.M.) made a team best three assists and three steals
- Sophomore guard Brandon Washington (Citronelle, Ala.) finished with seven points and five rebounds
- GU finished 10-for-12 (83.3 percent) from the free-throw line
UP NEXT
Gallaudet continues its four-game road trip next Wednesday, Dec. 3, at St. Mary's College of Maryland (2-3) for a 5 p.m. conference game. This will be the United East opener for both teams.
