Worley and Boren repeat top honors as five Bison earn All-United East Women's Volleyball honors

LATHAM, N.Y. - The United East Conference announced its 2025 Women's Volleyball All-Conference selections and Gallaudet University landed five players on one of the three teams while also taking home two big honors. Junior outside hitter Brielle Worley (Amarillo, Texas) was voted Player of the Year for a second consecutive year while Head Coach Lynn Ray Boren took home Coach of the Year honors for a third straight season.

Worley was joined on the all-conference first team alongside repeat honorees; senior setter Ella Gamble (Cullowhee, N.C.), senior outside hitter Citrine Lummer (Frederick, Md.) and junior middle hitter/opposite Jada Zarembka (Riverside, Calif.) makes her first appearance on the first team after being named to the second team last year. Senior libero Nicole Hicks (Corona, Calif.) was named to the third team.

Coach Boren earns his fourth United East Coach of the Year honor since the Bison have been a member of the conference in 2010. Coach Boren was voted by his peers for this honor as Gallaudet coasted to an unblemished regular-season conference record (10-0) and the United East regular-season championship. The Bison did not participate in this year's United East tournament due to the 2025 Deaflympics taking place in Tokyo from Nov. 15-26. All of Gallaudet's all-conference honorees are members of Team USA. Gallaudet leads NCAA Division III in hitting percentage (.285) and seventh in service aces (323) and aces per set (3.08). Coach Boren earned Conference Coach of the Year in 2012, '23, '24 and '25.

Worley is the ninth Bison to earn United East Player of the Year honors and the second to repeat this honor since Darriyan Thomas was named United East Player of the Year in 2016 and 2017. Worley is first in NCAA Division III for points (580.5), second in kills (509), fourth in kills per set (4.85), points per set (5.53), 15th in attacks per set (11.44) and 17th in total attacks (1,201). This season Worley was named United East Offensive Player of the Week four times (Sept. 1, Sept. 29, Oct. 20, Nov. 3) to increase her career total to 10 in two seasons. The Amarillo, Texas, native surpassed 1,000 career kills earlier this season (Oct. 25). This is the second straight appearance on the United East all-conference first team for Worley.

Gamble, the 2023 United East Player of the Year, returns to the all-conference first team for a third consecutive year. Gamble leads NCAA Division III in service aces (109) and aces per set (1.04) for a second straight year. Gamble is eighth in assists per set (10.49) and 12th in total assists (1,101). This season she earned three United East Offensive Player of the Week honors (Sept. 8, Oct. 6, Oct. 13) to increase her career total to nine in three seasons. The Cullowhee, N.C., native recorded her 3,000th career assist (Sept. 27) and 300th service ace (Oct. 18) in a Bison uniform this season.

Lummer makes a fourth appearance on the United East all-conference team and the third straight on the first team after a second team appearance during her first season. The Frederick, Md., native surpassed 1,000 career kills and 1,000 career digs on the same day (Sept. 20) this season. The outside hitter has 379 digs, 347 points, 285 kills, 49 assists, 45 service aces and 29 blocks on the season.

Zarembka moves up to the first team this season after being selected to the second team in 2024. The Riverside, Calif., native was named United East Defensive Player of the Week (Sept. 22) this season and currently ranks 88th in NCAA Division III for hitting percentage (.316). Zarembka's conference only hitting percentage of .377 is second in the United East only behind Worley's .410 mark. Zarembka is second in the conference for total blocks with 61 and finished the season with 290 kills, 194 digs and 34 service aces.

Hicks makes her first appearance on the United East all-conference team with a spot on the third team. The Corona, Calif., native earned United East Defensive Player of the Week (Oct. 13) last month and ranks second in the United East for total digs (426). Hicks tallied her 1,000th career dig earlier this season (Sept. 27).

Lancaster Bible College senior libero Madison Timberlake was selected as the United East Defensive Player of the Year while Cairn University's Marah Lehman was named United East Rookie of the Year.

Since Gallaudet has been in the United East, starting with the 2010 season, 53 Bison have earned all-conference honors. GU has earned 35 first-team, 13 second-team, five third-team selections, nine Offensive Player of the Year awards, four Rookie of the Year awards, one Defensive Player of the Year award and four Coach of the Year awards.
