Gallaudet women's volleyball ranked No. 7 in regional rankings

INDIANAPOLIS – The Gallaudet University women's volleyball team is ranked No. 7 in Region IV as announced by the NCAA as Division III released its fourth official NCAA Power Index (NPI) rankings for the 2025 season.

Gallaudet (24-6) is ranked 72nd overall nationally with a NPI number of 56.855 with results through Nov. 9.

NPI is a system that houses the division's statistical data and objectively applies the selection criteria to the data based on the sport committee's established weighted criteria.

NPI is a combination of the following: winning percentage; strength of schedule; home-away multiplier; quality win bonus; and overtime results (when relevant).

The weight of winning percentage versus strength of schedule is often referred to as one of the "dials" that a sport committee can adjust, placing any subjectivity within the criteria themselves. This is the second year NCAA Division III has used NPI rankings.

This is the first time GU women's volleyball has been regionally ranked this season.

Kean University (27-5) is ranked first in Region IV and 23rd overall with a NPI of 61.190 followed by Montclair State University (26-5) ranked second in Region IV and 39th overall (59.427). The other schools ranked in the Top 7 of Region IV include Rowan University (59.239), New York University (58.888), Stevens Institute of Technology (57.377), Stockton University (56.948) and Gallaudet.

GU is the only United East Conference program ranked. Penn State Harrisburg (20-5) was the next United East team in the Region IV rankings at No. 10 with a NPI of 54.577.

Region IV consists of teams in the following conferences; City University of New York (CUNY) Athletic Conference, Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Freedom, New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC), United East Conference along with New York University from the University Athletic Association (UAA).
