TROUTMAN, N.C. – A pair of Gallaudet University women's triathlon members participated in the East Regional Qualifier hosted by Kinetic Multisports here Saturday at Lake Norman State Park.
Gallaudet first-year triathletes
Adelle Patton (Puyallup, Wash.) and
Jasmine Jimenez Lara (Gilroy, Calif.) represented the buff and blue.
Patton clocked in at 13 minutes and seven seconds on the 750-meter swim but got lapped out of the race during the bike segment. Jimenez Lara finished the swim in 17:27 but got lapped out of the race during the bike segment. In total 25 triathletes got lapped out of the competition.
Beth Cook from Queens University of Charlotte (Division I) won the event in 1:02:30. Queens won the Division I competition with 622 team points. Wingate University won the Division II competition with 564 points while Trine University was the top Division III program with 327 points.
The Bison did not have a team score since both triathletes got lapped out.

Alecia Miller (Litchfield, Ill.) along with Jimenez Lara will travel to Tempe, Ariz., for the Women's Collegiate National Championships on Saturday, Nov. 8.
