WASHINGTON– The Gallaudet University women's volleyball team secured its third consecutive 20-win season Wednesday night as the Bison swept Notre Dame of Maryland University, 3-0 (25-12, 25-10, 25-18) in conference play, at the Field House.
The win pushed Gallaudet's record to 20-5, including a perfect 8-0 mark in the United East conference play. The Bison have surged to 14 wins in a row and haven't dropped a set in their last 15.
Gallaudet finished with 46 kills and a .449 hitting percentage, its ninth match this season above .411.
Three Bison reached double figures in kills. Senior outside hitter
Citrine Lummer (Frederick, Md.) and junior middle hitter
Jada Zarembka (Riverside, Calif.) shared a match-high 14 kills each, while junior outside hitter
Brielle Worley (Amarillo, Texas) added 13 kills. Lummer also collected 12 digs, Zarembka contributed four blocks and an ace, and Worley chipped in two blocks and six digs. Senior setter
Ella Gamble (Cullowhee, N.C.) passed out 39 assists and served a match-best five aces. First-year middle hitter
Kayla Debrow (Jacksonville, Fla.) led all players with five blocks, marking her eighth match this season with three or more blocks. Senior libero
Nicole Hicks (Corona, Calif.) tailled match-high 16 digs and served two aces.
The Gators (13-6, 4-3 United East) were led by Kaliyah Brown with 10 kills, while Alyson Lackovic handed out 13 assists in the loss.
